Waiting for the Fireworks

Watching fireworks at Mall of Asia  is a challenge. Based on the posters and fliers, the event starts at 7pm. This doesn't mean that you can walk in there and setup a few minutes before the show starts. Roads gets closed as early as 4pm. Finding an ideal spot is easy but finding an unoccupied ideal spot is difficult. Watchers camp to the baywalk as early as 3pm to get the best seats on the seawall.
A tripod is necessary for shooting fireworks because the camera needs to be set manually for a slow shutter capture. It takes up space to set up and you'll definitely have no space if you arrive 10mins before the show starts. Our group decided to go there as early as 4pm.

These pictures were taken around 5pm. Sun is still up and its heat is still enough to give a person major sweating. People used the short wall as a shade as they waited for the show to begin. No wonder why food and refreshments are such a hit when there is a crowd waiting for an event.
Did you ever had the feeling that the more you want time to go faster, it goes the other way around? You feel that you've been sitting on your spot for over an hour but when you look at your watch, you cant believe that it's only been 10mins since you last checked. You can't stroll away if you don't have a companion since there are other people watching and waiting to get an opportunity on replacing you on your seat. Sitting there for prolonged hours gives you a literal pain in the butt. Your legs starts to feel numb and your back is aching for a stretch. To which, a stretch I did.

The best part while waiting for the event is to witness the famous Manila Bay sunset. It never ceases to give me that warm feeling.
